- Your instrument
- Tuner (this is important – check out the FAQ on this!)
- Other related gear as needed (strap, picks, capo, rosin, etc)

- Instrument stand (optional, but handy)
- Song books and charts (optional, handy for seeing the lyrics and chords; as you get your more experienced you will be able to start playing more and more songs without the chart; see Resources for some recommendations)
- Recording device (optional; e.g., the Voice Memo app on the iPhone;)
What to Know
- At a minimum, be prepared to play and change between the G and D chords; we will always play at least 1 basic song with only G and D.
- Review the song charts for the jam. Even if you are very new to music and/or bluegrass, it helps to review the lyrics and listen to recordings of the songs.
- Review the Jam Etiquette information so that you will be a good Bluegrass Citizen!
